Jacob Ewe Flock

Maple Hill Elnora B214-97
Fairview Amazon x Craft's Shagbark
Has a fused horn on one side, but has never thrown a lamb with a fused horn. She twins regularly, has gorgeous lambs, usually small, but then, she is very small. Extremely friendly. My oldest ewe at this point.

Huntsberger Deirdre FF045-05
Deirdre came with Jamie to the AGM here in VT two years ago, and with her daughter, Charlotte, stayed. Charlotte has moved on to a new flock. In '06 Deirdre had a gorgeous 4 horned, black socked, black muzzled ram lamb who did some work here and then moved on to another farm. Spring '07, from the shape of her, I will risk predicting she'll have twins. A little standoffish, but better than before.

Sweetgrass Susanna D074-06
Rockies Myrddin x Sweetgrass Galadriel
New to this farm from Peg Bostwick in '06. She is a friendly girl, but as a lamb, not bred.

Maple Hill Mimi A002-03
Puddleduck Olivia and Marsh View Horatio
She has a loose lateral, which she somehow damaged when she was about a year old. It leans against her cheek, but doesn't come off nor tighten again. She is a little standoffish, unlike her very sweet and friendly mother, but has lovely fleece. She makes NICE babies.

Puddleduck Nell B051-02
Crafts Andre x Puddleduck Moira.
A friendly girl, who charmed me at Royal Unzicker's, and I talked him into selling her to me. She had a beautiful pair of twins last year.

Maple Hill Delilah C003-03
Maple Hill Miriam and Oaks Edge Sir Lancelot
The least friendly of my ewes, thinking that humans are a low life form she needn't pay much attention to, and is clearly above. Last year she had triplets. In years past, she's singled. She does NOT want me around when she lambs, and manages to cross her legs til I disappear, and then presents me (with a snear and a who needs you) with lambs an hour later.

Maple Hill Ava A104-05
Haycock Forge Lady Madonna x Skokan's Abner
Ava's dam, Madonna died this past month (2/07)at age 11 had gorgeous fleece which Ava has inherited. She is expecting her first lamb(s) the end of March 2007.

Maple Hill Turtle A115-05
Tomasina x Skokan's Abner. Named by my grandson, Peter, who is obsessed with turtles. She broke off one of her laterals early on. She will have her first lamb(s?) '07 as a yearling.

Maple Hill Tomasina C086-99
Weavers' Wool Katie x Oaks Edge Sir Lancelot. A twin. This line drops lambs in record time, hardly disturbing their eating or cudding to do so. It seems like they are in labor for 10 minutes and then, plop, plop, two lambs on the ground. Ewes from this line are great mothers, and mostly, they have ewe lambs. Besides 2006 lambing,I can't think of a single ram lamb Tomasina has borne, and she has had twins every year after singling the first, as a yearling. Her mother had one ram lamb I can recall. This line also has very "friendly" genes.
