Maple Hill Shetland Sheep

About a year after I got my first jacobs, I took a friend to see some shetlands, as she was interested in purchasing some. While there, I fell in love with a little shetland ram lamb, bought him, and that fall, purchased two "girlfriends" for him. After two years, I replaced that ram with my beloved Ramsay, from Bitterroot Farm in Montana. Ramsay lived here, until he died in 2006 at age 11. He produced beautiful lambs, especially with my first ewe, Nina, who died in 2005 at age 11.

Now, I have ten shetland ewes, which is about 5 more than I want to have. (I am a jacob breeder who keeps a few shetlands.) Hence, I will have some older adult shetlands for sale (a good way to get started in shetlands, since they are pricey sheep), as well as lambs. From time to time, other shetlands are for sale as well. Please contact Betty to inquire after particular colors, blood lines, etc. -Betty, in Vermont.

Town Farm Daisy, a twin, born 4/22/98, S9959, is black at the roots! She fades to dark grey with reddish tips. Her fleece is lovely. Sire: Maple Ridge Braxton, single, S5896; Dam: Town Farm Beatrice, twin, S4278. Because of her age, $100. (I think she has at least two good lambing seasons ahead of her...she has never had any health issues.)

To the right is Maple Hill Darcy, daughter of Town Farm Daisy. She is a single, S22739, born 4/10/06, black. Sire: Bitterroot Ramsay, S6563, Moorit twin; Dam: Town Farm Daisy, S9959, black twin. $500.

The musket one is Maple Hill Fionnuala, S22741, born 4/21/06; Sire: Maple Ridege Neumann: S20899, musket; Dam: Maple Ridge Juli, S20900, Grey Blaget. Both parents were twins. This is Juli's first lamb; $500.
The grey ewe behind Fionnuala is Maple Ridge Juli, S20900, born 4/24/04. Sire: Maple Ridge Loudon S14164, black; Dam Maple Ridge Mildred, S12516, light grey. Juli was a twin, both her parents were singles, $500.
