Maple Hill Flock Sires

Several years ago, I visited Katrina Lefever and fell in love with a couple of rams she had, Marsh View Horatio and his son, Skokan's Abner, both pictured above with permission from Katrina. I bought Horatio that year, but Abner wasn't for sale. Later, Katrina advertised Abner for sale and I called her immediately and bought him.

These two, son and grandson of the legendary Puddleduck Dynamite, have produced many beautiful lambs for me over the years. In fact, if Vermont weren't flooded with the sons and daughters of this dynamic duo, I would never have sold them and searched for other rams. Very rarely did either of them produce lambs which weren't registerable.

Over the years, I have tried to find other rams which did as well for me, and I may have found one in Unzicker Captain, whom I used on four ewes this year. He is a lovely two horned guy, very gentle and well behaved, and I like quite a number of his lambs. He will stay and be used again in '07.
The fall of 2006 I also used Maple Hill Joshua, son of Abner and Huntsberger Deirdre, a nice four horned ram lamb who was sold after breeding season. I liked him but too many of his sisters are still around here and other farms in the area.

I recently purchased 4 Horn Farm Stoney, pictured below as a lamb and as a yearling, from Carl and Judy Fosbrink in Indiana. His sire is Craft's Carson (son of Craft's Redford and Pinecroft Carly) and his dam is 4 Horn Farm's Angela (daughter of Canberra Constible and 4 Horn Farm's Ruth Ann.) Hopefully, he will also produce many nice lambs for the spring of 2007.
